Buying online, which is a common thing nowadays, has as many advantages as disadvantages. Firstly, technological items will never be like traditional ones; sometimes they are better, others worse.

On the one hand, when you are buying in a traditional shop, there are so many clothes that you don’t really see all of them. In addition, there are always people who are in front of the clothes you want to have a look at, which is really annoying. However, you will always be able to see how the product is in reality, instead of seeing it in a photography that could be false. Also, you can try it on to make sure which size you need and to see if it is what you thought it would be once you wear it.

On the other hand, buying online is less stressful and comfortable. If you are looking for a jacket, you don’t need to see the whole store. But you need to be careful to buy them in safe webs. Furthermore, you should make sure how much it costs for the store to send it.

Buying items online is an important issue today because of the innovation of technology.

On the one hand, stuff is really cheaper on the web than in shops. In addition, you can find more variety of clothes and you always find your size. Most of the brands are available online so you have lots of opportunities in order to buy what you want.

On the other hand, you can't get your stuff at the moment since you have to wait for the shipment until it is sent to your house. You have to take into account the possibility that you could be cheated and you have spent your money without receiving anything.

There are some risks when you buy clothes online, however, there are several advantages, therefore, you can choose whether to buy or not.

I don't usually buy online, although I have bought some music books and some clothes. But when I buy items online, I try to buy the cheapest ones on the Internet.

In my opinion, buying online is a good resource, as you can find anything you can dream of. And sometimes, the item you want to buy is cheaper than in a traditional shop.

But I'm a bit opposed to this, because it is also dangerous, since you can order something you don't need and it can take some time, if it arrives, because it may be paid but it may never get to you.

I know a friend who ordered an iPhone online 100€ cheaper than in the shop, but when it arrived at her home, there wasn't an iPhone but an iPhone picture inside the box.

So to finish, I wouldn't recommend anyone to buy on the Internet if it's not something you can't find here and that you really need.

                                                                       By A.D

Buying online is now one of the most used ways to buy items. This doesn´t mean that it is the best way of buying.

On the one hand, if you buy items online, you can do it from your house; then, you don’t have to go to the shopping centre. Also, you can get whatever you want, since you have lots of websites where you can buy clothes and other products.

Instead of spending so much money, you can look for cheaper webs, like some from Asia. These websites sell imitation clothes, but they’re good imitations, so you only recognize that they are false if you look at them slowly, and you notice in small details.

On the other hand, when you buy something online, you must be sure of the size you have chosen due to the fact that the item can be bigger or smaller than you expected. For example, last week, my sister received a pair of trainers that she had bought in a Taiwan website for only 20 but when they arrived, they were a bit small, so they were uncomfortable. She couldn’t send it back because of the huge distances between Spain and Taiwan.

Another negative fact is that these items, which are very cheap, are sometimes made by children who are forced to work a lot.

In my opinion, it’s better to buy items at a shopping centre because there, you can try them on; however, if you don’t have much money, you can try buying online.

                                                                                   By J.B.

Buying online can be a bit dangerous if you do it in unofficial websites, but if you buy it in safe websites where the purchase is 100% private, you should not have any kind of problem. Because of the risk, some people are against buying on the Internet.

Personally, I don’t usually buy  on the Internet unless they are not sold in Spain. In fact, I haven’t anything against buying online.

When I purchase something online I have no fear as I choose the most recommended or the official website. If I’m not truly sure about getting the object safely I just don’t do it.

Sometimes, hackers clone the credit cards in order to steal money or continue buying things. I think the government should protect us from this type of crime by reinforcing the website system. Lots of people are stealing money, so they must do something about it.

                                                                                                                                                            Anonymous

Nowadays, we cannot only buy items in shops, but we can also purchase them online, which is an easy way to get products without the effort of leaving home. Buying online is not as spread as buying in shops, but people do it more often.

On the one hand, you can take advantage of this new reality and use the Internet, for instance, to buy products that are sold out in shops. You can ask for them online and the company will deliver it to you from any of its establishments in a relatively short period of time. It is also useful if you purchase something which is sold only abroad, or in a city that you can’t get to, or even in online stores which only sell their items on the Internet.

But on the other hand, it has got some inconveniences. Hackers sometimes create fake webpages that sell false products, in order to swindle buyers and steal their money, therefore we should be careful about the details that distinguish a real company from a fake one. Another consequence of buying online is the size, related to clothes and shoes. What you have bought doesn’t always fit you when you try it on at home, so you have to send it back. In addition, you may pay extra money for the transport.

All in all, before buying a product you should contrast when it is more worthwhile: if you buy it in the shops of your city or if you get it online. You might be surprised by the many advantages that buying on the Internet can have.
                                                               Anonymous

Buying online has become very popular and I often buy on the Internet because in my opinion it is more comfortable.

The advantages of buying online are that you find what you want faster than if you go to a traditional shop, because you only have to write what you want and if you buy it in a shop you have to search for the shop where they sell the item. Also, you lose less time shopping on the Internet because you don’t have to go to the shop, you do it at home and then, they bring it to your home. Sometimes, you also find what you want cheaper than in a shop.

The disadvantages of buying online are that they can cheat you, as it happened to me once. I paid the item and it never came home. Another disadvantage is that it takes more time to receive the item than if you buy it in a shop because you can take it at that moment. Another disadvantage is that the article may be fake, so we have to be careful where we buy online.
                                                                                                                                                               Anonymous

Buying online is better than buying in a shop for many reasons, however you have to know how to do it.

On the one hand, buying online can be dangerous if you have never bought on the Internet. There are people who swindle others by publishing websites where it says that you can buy cheap products, but the truth is that they are tricking people and then you pay money and you do not receive anything.

Sometimes there are products, like clothes, that you can buy in reliable websites, but it is better to buy them in real shops because maybe they are not your size and you might want to change them. Occasionally, there are problems if you buy them online.

On the other hand, you can find lots of articles on the Internet that you cannot find in a shop. For example, if you are fan of a band and you want a T-shirt of it, it is very difficult to find a shop where those T-shirts are sold. However, it is easy to find a safe website where you can buy it. Usually, there are a lot of reliable websites, such as Amazon or EBay, which are really cheap and they have a huge variety.

In conclusion, buying online is more comfortable than buying in a shop, but you have to be very careful.

6. ADVANTAGES AND DISADVANTAGES OF BEING A CELEBRITY. (Five compositions - BACHILLERATO 1)

I suppose that all of us, in our childhood, have dreamt of becoming a celebrity, either a brilliant sportsman or sportswoman, a famous singer, or a successful actor or actress. Nevertheless, as we grow up and mature, we forget this aspiration since we see it as something unachievable and which only a few people get in their lives. At first, it might look like an amazing and different way of living, all facilities, but it is not as fantastic as it seems to be.

Well, not everything is a problem. Celebrities live richly; they will never have problems of unemployment or poverty. They can get the best whenever and wherever they want. They also travel a lot, and see a lot of different cities, where they can also meet interesting people just because they are famous. There are a lot of people who love them and would do anything for them.

But there are disadvantages too. They lose their privacy, being chased by paparazzi and crowds of crazy fans. Everything they do appears on the news, and if it is wrong, it will persecute them for the rest of their lives. Fame can affect them, leading them into alcohol or drugs as well, because they have everything and they don’t know what to do with their lives. Celebrities are loved by many fans, but also hated by others, so it can become dangerous if an insane person tries to hurt them.

So before planning your future, you should think if it is worthwhile to live as a celebrity does.

Most of us would like to become a celebrity one day as we want to enjoy all the advantages it has. However, we do not think about the disadvantages it can lead to.

When I was a child I wanted to become a successful singer like Rihanna or Beyonce because at that moment I was astonished with the lifestyle they had, their expensive cars, houses and pricey clothes.

Now, I would lie if I didn’t say that I would like to be as rich as they are, to appear on television and have famous boyfriends as they have. If you pay attention to celebrities, it is amazing to see how they spend thousands of dollars on colleges for their children, on exclusive jewelleries or on other things that in our opinion are a complete waste of money, but that we would love to have.

However, being a celebrity doesn’t consist only of being famous and rich, it implies other things that most of us don’t want to see. There are certain cases that I would like to talk about such as the one of Princess Diana of Wales. As we can remember she was really famous and rich, but although she was a celebrity, she couldn’t be happy and died at the age of thirty-six years old because of the “paparazzi” who pursued her relentlessly.

In conclusion, on the one hand I would like to become a celebrity because it has advantages, like the money. But, on the other hand it can have tragic consequences, so we have to know the risks that being a celebrity has.

Nowadays, being a celebrity is something that almost everybody wishes to be. Most of us have dreamed of being a person whom everybody can recognise and feel thrilled to see.

On the one hand, if you are a celebrity, you can travel around the world knowing new cities and cultures. In addition, everywhere you go, you will receive a better attention than an ordinary person. Also, celebrities earn a lot of money so you can buy all the whims you have.

On the other hand, you can´t live peacefully for a long time because of paparazzi. They are always waiting to take photos of the celebrity or to ask you questions so you should be protected by a bodyguard. Eventually, sometimes some magazines invent gossips about you and nobody likes that.

                                                                           Anonymous

I would like to be a celebrity just because of money. However, being a celebrity is horrible as people are always trying to get to you, just because you are famous. As we can see on TV, famous people are always in trouble with paparazzi and that can be really stressful. Some celebrities are rude but I imagine myself in their position and I would behave the same way as they do. They can’t go alone anywhere because there is always someone following them, taking photos of everything they do. That’s so annoying!

An advantage is that they can buy everything they like since if you are a celebrity, you always have money and also some brands give famous people presents just because they want celebrities to promote their products.

A disadvantage is that you can’t have a normal life. If you are a celebrity, you can’t go shopping without having someone looking at everything you buy or you can’t go for a walk without having hundreds of people following you just because you are famous.

In my opinion, it’s normal to see a celebrity followed by people as they decided to live this type of life, but I also think that it’s annoying.

To sum up, I prefer my freedom to having all the money in the world and being followed by people every day. I couldn’t stand it as it’s so stressful.

5. DO YOU FEAR SOLITUDE ? (Three compositions - BACHILLERATO 1)

As humans, we are born surrounded by our family, then supported by our friends, and finally loved by our couple.

First of all, we are not born alone, and each one of us knows that there is that one person that will show us the bright side of things, even when they turn out bad. Yes, I am talking about mothers.

Then, you may have more or less friends but you surely have at least one. I have to clear up that when I say ‘friends’, I mean ‘true friends’, not the guy who you first talked to two days ago and that just smiles at you at your school. With ‘friend’ I mean the brother that you never had. However, it is difficult to find people like this nowadays.

Finally, as we grow older, we find love, and we start feeling things that we had never experienced before. I am sure that we all have experienced these astonishing emotions which make us shiver from our head down to our toes.

Do I fear solitude? Of course I do, I am frightened of being alone, of having no family and no friends since I am a human. I believe that we are all afraid of solitude, and I believe that none of us could survive on his own for long.

                                                   By S.P.A

Everybody has wondered, at least once in life, if they fear solitude. I suppose that everybody fears the fact of being completely alone, in the sense of not having any friends and a social life. When we arrive at a new place, as a high school, our first concern is to meet people, to try to start a conversation just because we don’t want to feel isolated.

Nevertheless, we sometimes need our space and to be alone for a while, to be on our own and to think more deeply. It is not necessary to be surrounded by the crowd every single moment of the day; it may get annoying and stressing. In my opinion, our main fear is to believe that little moments of loneliness can become a deep isolation and last forever.

All in all, my answer is definitely that I do fear solitude, as I need people to talk to and, in any sense, to feel loved and appreciated, although I also need my private moments. It is not the same to be alone as to be lonely.

                                                                                                      By M.S.

I fear solitude. I'm afraid of being alone one day, without company, without no one to count on since I sometimes feel alone even knowing that I am not alone because I have great friends and a family. However, nobody knows what will happen in the future.

Referring to friendship, I am afraid of having no one to tell my troubles, no one to ask for help, no one to have fun, no one to hang out with… I think that's one of the worst feelings as friendship is necessary.

And about love, I’m afraid of solitude too. When I grow up, I would like to have a partner, to love him and have a family.

To sum up, I am afraid of being alone and feeling that way.

I used to think that always telling the truth is the right option. However, we were talking about this in the philosophy class last day and I realized that it is very difficult to decide if you should always tell the truth.

On the one hand I think that if you have confidence with a person, you have to tell him the truth. You can be scared because you don’t know how that person is going to react, or how the truth is going to affect him, but it is the right option. If you really love that person you have to be honest.

On the other hand, sometimes people deserve more than the truth. Last day, a classmate told us the example that his grandfather is almost 90 and he has cancer. It is supposed that telling him the truth is right, but his family thought that he is very old and it is not worth because it would be worse for him, so he doesn’t know about his illness. In that case, I think that not telling the truth is better.

In conclusion, I think that always telling the truth is arguable. It depends on the situation, the person and, of course, the reason why you are going to tell, or not, the truth.
