21. WOULD YOU TAKE PART IN A REALITY SHOW ? (Two compositions - BACHILLERATO 1)

Reality shows are a variety of TV programme that I dislike watching. They just show people’s lives, but the contestants don’t behave as they usually do: they only play a role to participate in the programme as long as they can. In my opinion, these TV shows don’t provide me with anything interesting. They bore me.

So I would decline an invitation to take part in this sort of programme. My private life would be invaded by the anxious and attentive look of thousands of people, and it wouldn’t make me comfortable. I think people who participate only want TV success and money, and by contesting this show, they get more and more popularity. Furthermore, the participants often stand out since they are rude, cause arguments and fights or boast of their intelligence. Personally, I am not the right kind of girl to join a programme like this; I wouldn’t be interesting for the audience and I couldn’t spend much time there.

All in all, I would only accept an offer like this if I needed the money very much. It is true that they are really well paid and I could take part in it if I were extremely desperate. However, I will keep on thinking that reality shows are the worst TV broadcasts.

Reality shows are a virus which is spreading fairly quickly among the people that form our society, due to the fact that they prefer to be infected rather than cure themselves and give up watching them.

Reality shows are a pretty simple way to make money, which consists of showing other people´s personal lives to a huge public, who for some reason that my mind cannot get to understand, are incredibly interested in them. On top of that, the individuals who take part in these shows are usually people who cannot even do up their shoes on their own, and who kick out of the list of possible topics which could be presented in the reality show, subjects like science, literature or even respectful dialogues about regular themes. In addition, I would like to say that a big portion of what we are shown on our televisions is pure drama, as conflictive situations attract more viewers.

Concerning my opinion about going to a reality show, I believe that I have explained in a pretty clear way why my answer would be negative. I find it rather sad to see how many people enjoy watching those programmes, which as far as I’m concerned, belong to the category of ‘Junk TV’. I really do not want to participate in these shows, since I would prefer them to disappear, and hopefully stop making society think that they can earn money by doing nothing with their lives.

20. THE VIEWS I SEE WHEN I LOOK THROUGH THE WINDOW OF MY BEDROOM. (Two compositions - BACHILLERATO 1)

The view from my window is awesome! I am a lucky person as I am not living in the town center where almost all the views are roads and you are always seeing cars and traffic jams.

As I live in the suburbs, I am able to enjoy looking at the nature, such as trees and some beautiful animals that make me feel relaxed as it is a really peaceful place.

When I look through the window, I can see a mountain, Peña Cabarga, which is really beautiful when it snows. Nevertheless, I can also see the graveyard so the view from my window is not as nice as you can imagine since I do not really like that place.

Although I have a really incredible views, I seldom look through the window of my bedroom and when I do it, I do not focus on the landscape. When I look throgh the window I usually start to think about my life and problems so I do not enjoy the views.

If you ask someone what he sees through his window, he will probably tell you that he sees a field, or a road, and maybe even the sea. However, when I stare at the world outside my window, I see nothing but solitude.

This may seem a little strange, but when I look through my bedroom window everything that I see or what my sight reaches is solitude. This solitude is created by simple elements such as a lonely horse walking towards the sunset or by the grass being peacefully swayed due to the wind. During the summer, the outline of the birds fading into te distance, moving their wings with pleasure, can even make you cry sometimes.

It is pretty strange how these small details can really make me feel lucky about what I have, since my family is always there to support me. When I argue with them, I often walk to my window and stare at the landscape for a few minutes, and then, I am more capable to handle the situation which had made me feel angry. As a result of this, I am more likely to solve my problems and I feel better.

I believe that we have to learn to admire the small details which can often tell us how lucky we are.

19. HOW DO DRUGS DESTROY INDIVIDUALS AND FAMILIES ? (Three compositions - BACHILLERATO 1)

People get in drugs for similar reasons. They are told that it is fun and they forget about their problems. Even though they think it could become a serious problem, they consume the drug just because of the social pressure. It becomes a habit, and suddenly, they cannot live without their drug: they have turned into addicted people.

Being addicted to drugs means health problems. Your body will never be the same and you will become weak and ill. It will damage your physical appearance and people won’t get close to you, distrustful.

Besides, your entire life and the lives of the people around you will get ruined. You will be fired from work and probably get depressed and angry, which means a lot of complications with your family and friends. The pain and suffering that a drug addict causes to his family is awful, in spite of the fact that relatives don’t deserve it. Even if you are overwhelmed with this addiction, they will help you to recover your previous life.

So, those are reasons not to get hooked on drugs. They just cause problems and spoil lives, not only their own life. People who are part of the drug addict’s life will also be splashed with the consequences. People should think about it and decide if it is worth consuming drugs. I would bet that it isn’t.

Drugs are substances which are produced artificially that produce negative effects to the nervous system.

The most popular drug is cocaine, whose users are growing faster.

The most common and important consequence of abusing of cocaine is that the heart of users is too damaged because of the drug and it seems more aged than a healthy one.

It can also cause mental disorders like uncontrolled behaviour or hallucinations.

For the family it may be difficult to live with a person that can't control his reactions. They sometimes have to give the drug addict money to buy drugs as if they do not, he would react violently.

To sum up, drugs might not enter in our lives, as if they do, we won't be able to stop consuming them and we will destroy our life.

People start taking drugs (and when I talk about drugs I include alcohol) without being conscious of how drugs are going to affect them or even their family.

In my opinion there are two reasons why people take drugs. One is just for having fun. People go out, drink alcohol and when they get tired of it, they take drugs thinking that they can control the situation, but they don't. And when they realize that they are hooked, it is late. The other reason is that some people pass through really bad moments in their life, and the only solution that they see is getting drunk and taking pills. I think that when people take drugs, it is worse for their families than for them. It is hard to see how a member of one's family slowly kills himself.

In conclusion, drugs are harmful for everybody who is around them. However, it is worse for families as they see how the people they love destroy themselves.
