123. MY FAVOURITE TOY , by A.N.M (ESO 3)

SONG:  Sia & David Guetta - Titanium

My favourite toy is the Rubik cube also called magic cube.

I got my first Rubik cube as a present from my parents. It was from a Chinese shop that sells many items. I got it when I was five years old and I remember I was moving and turning it.

One year ago I learnt to solve it. I thought it was impossible but now It’s very easy for me. Nowadays I’m waiting for more cubes of other sizes that come from China and the USA.

If I travel to another place that is nor near my house, I always take my Rubik cube to solve it and enjoy my time If I’m bored.

The Rubik cube is a cube made of 25 pieces and a core that sustains the pieces. It can be turned in many ways. It has 6 sides of six colours: white or black - it depends on the background colour - , yellow, green, blue, red and orange. The size of It is not so big. Every piece is 0'53 milimetres long.

122. MY FAVOURITE TOY , by S.S.M (ESO 3)

SONG:  Ultravox - Vienna

My favourite toy is a stuffed animal from PRENATAL. It is a little rabbit. My grandmother’s friends gave it to her as a present for me so my grandmother gave me the stuffed animal when I was born at the hospital.

The stuffed animal has big ears; it has a red and white square tie and a red and white square T-shirt. It has a pretty red nose and its eyes are brown. The colour of the stuffed animal’s fur is beige.

The little rabbit is my favourite toy because we have been together since I was born. When I am scared in the stormy nights, I hug it and when I am sad, I kiss it. So it’s my lovely rabbit! If I have a child, I have decided that I will give it to her or him as a present too!

SONG: THE VERVE - Bitter Sweet Symphony

Since I was a little boy, even when I was a baby, I have liked to get into boxes. You’ll probably think that it’s a strange habit. My parents did too.

A good example where my eccentricity is showed is when I received a present: immediately after having opened the box and extracted the present (whether it was a toy or whether it was any other thing), I went into the box and I remained motionless.

In the living room of my house, my Dad had made a special area for my sister and I to play. It was similar to a park, with toys, balls and a colourful carpet. We couldn’t get out by ourselves as it was surrounded by a wood fence.

My parents thought that mi habit was fun, therefore they decided to put in the parka box. This box was, for years, my favourite toy. It wasn’t special at all: made of transparent plastic, with the perfect size for me to stay comfortably in it.

My Mum told me that I sometimes fell asleep inside the box.

I have reflected upon the reason for liking so much to stay in small places and I have realised that you probably feel similar inside a box and inside your Mum’s womb.

Even now, at the age of fifteen, I get into the small, claustrophobic places and corners I find. I like to be alone, with the only company of my thoughts.

120. MY FAVOURITE TOY , by G.P.C (E.S.O 3)

SONG:  PRINCE - Purple Rain

When I was a child, I wasn’t like the other girls in my class. I didn’t like playing with teddy bears or spending my time dressing dolls.

In fact, many of the dolls and soft toys that  my family and friends gave to me finished without hair, legs or arms.

I need to say that I’m not proud of what I did, but it’s done and I can’t change it.

But, although I didn’t play with dolls or teddy bears, I had a favourite toy. It was a bright red kite, with small red rows hanging from its long cords. It was perfect for me.

My dad bought it to me during a weekend. I don’t remember exactly the day, but I know that it was after a big downpour.

While my father and I were walking in the street it suddenly started raining, and we got wet immediately, so I finished very sad.

Then, my dad took me to the first toy shop we saw and bought me the kite saying: “don’t be sad my dear, smile”. After that we started playing with the kite and I forgot about my sadness.

Perhaps I didn’t like the kite by itself, but for the memory of the day on which my father made me smile.
